George began
his engineering career 35 years ago in the design and
construction of large public works projects. He shifted his
focus to industrial engineering and manufacturing processes
when he joined General Motors in 1979. There he managed
productivity improvement activities, product planning, cost
reduction programs, ISO 9001 implementation for the
engineering department and business processes improvement.
George has extrapolated his manufacturing experience to the
service sector, specifically, the health care industry where
he is charged with organizing and leading Lean Process
Improvement (Toyota Production System) initiatives for
Memorial Health System.
George’s approach to business
process improvement is practical, focused on engaging and
empowering all levels of the organization in work methods
improvement and cultural transformation. He is a licensed
Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois.
