Baker, Jake & Powell's Practice Managers (Partners) are deeply committed to the concept of operations-level solutions: concepts converted to policies and procedures   that can be interpreted and converted to tasks at the shop floor.  This is our service.  Not ideas, but implementation; not organizational charts and plans, but tools such as  job descriptions for tasks with standards of performance; and the data capture, transformation and reporting systems necessary to assure that potential productivity is captured.

The 1980's and 1990's are a debris-field, littered with failed concepts delivered by top-down management consultants: short-term value maximization through mergers & acquisition, leveraged finance, massive layoffs of core talent and organizational structures of multidisciplinary cross-functional teams. These concepts were flawed at inception. 

Baker, Jake & Powell is not a management consultancy of recent decades' ilk, but an operations consultancy of the new millennium. 

Baker, Jake & Powell works from the bottom up, not the top down.  Management's desire for improvement at the enterprise level may simply be incompatible with the reality of operations at the ground level due to lack of data, information and reporting which are necessary to create the environment of accountability.
